Jalal Leach
Jalal, a San Francisco Bay Area native, brings over 30 years of experience in baseball as a player, coach, and scout. A former Major League player with the San Francisco Giants in 2001, his professional journey began when he was drafted by the New York Yankees. Throughout his career, Jalal has had the privilege of playing alongside and being coached by legendary figures such as Dusty Baker, Bobby Bonds Sr., Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter, and Vladimir Guerrero Sr. His extensive experience on and off the field has shaped his deep understanding of the game and its nuances.
As a coach, Jalal has played a pivotal role in the development of numerous players, including 14 who advanced to the Major Leagues, such as Rhys Hoskins, Charlie Culberson, Eric Thames, and 2024 Texas Rangers first-round pick Malcolm Moore. He has also mentored countless athletes who have excelled at the collegiate level in both softball and baseball. Beyond coaching, Jalal’s expertise in scouting has been instrumental in building successful organizations, contributing to the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, and Miami Marlins. Through Leachy Elite Training, Jalal shares his wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport, mentoring youth baseball and softball players of all ages and skill levels.
